I love bears! We live in the forest and often have bears wandering through our property, I have a long 500mm lense and can take photos of them from my balcony. All the black bears are local bears. The white bear is a spirit bear, a Kenmode bear, located in the Great bear Rainforest in Northern British Columbia. The grizzly is from there as well.

In January 2014, my family went to Botswana, Africa for my parents' fiftieth wedding anniversary.  I had no idea I would ever paint elephants, it was nowhere in my painting thought process, but when I saw the first elephant in its natural environment, I was moved forever.  Since I paint the things that touch me emotionally, I returned home and started painting elephants frantically.

These elephant paintings are also available in limited edition prints, with 50% of the proceeds going to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya, who rescue and rehabilitate orphaned elephants whose mothers have been poached for their ivory.
